A series of five pendants and five brooches, shown during Nelson Clay Week 2024
Artists and makers frequently recover – from failure, from losses, from rejection. It is often the connections between and the support from fellow artists that help us through difficult times. My works are made from porcelain shards salvaged from ceramic artist Sue Scobie’s kiln. Being retrieved from the kiln, the shards are charged with frustration, despair and sadness. By transforming them into wearable contemporary jewellery pieces, they talk about recovery, connection and perseverance.
